“Educating youth in the art of theatre”
Village Theatre Waterdown Inc. generously funds the annual “Village Theatre Thespian Award” to graduating students of Waterdown District High School (WDHS) and St Mary Catholic Secondary School who demonstrates excellence in theatre arts.
Consideration is given to students pursuing post secondary theatre arts in acting, and those who excel in technical assistance supporting theatre arts. High School drama teaching faculty reaches their decision for qualified candidates on past participation in the high school drama program and community involvement in the arts. Bursary is presented at graduation ceremony.
Village Theatre Waterdown operates a refreshment concession at each performance to support this community initiative of “educating youth in the art of theatre”. Donations for refreshments are gratefully accepted.
Please contact Village Theatre Waterdown if you know of a student from Waterdown District High School or St Mary Catholic Secondary School that should be considered for this annual bursary. Information will be forwarded to a Waterdown District High School and St Mary Catholic Secondary School drama faculty member.
- Volunteer opportunities are available to all high school students who have interest in theatre arts.
- Volunteer hours qualify for required minimum 40 hrs for Ontario Secondary School Diploma.
