Xmas

An evening of Christmas readings and carols was held to welcome the festive season!

Melanie Roung (formally Mathews, our Cabaret musical director)  conducted a choir of ten men and ten women in an evening of sacred and secular music, including some of our favourite carols.

Richard Vaillancourt read Dylan Thomas' A Child's Christmas in Wales.
Bruce Edwards read from Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol (Chapter One - Jacob Marley).

Urchins Dakota Liss-Nicoll and Nicole Guarascia helped with the festivities.

Toys were collected and donated to the Salvation Army in Dundas, which also services Waterdown. Major Fran Golding tells us that children whose families have registered would be allowed to select two presents from a large display of donated toys.

50% of the profits were donated to UNICEF.

Leena Aggus from the Ontario Trillium Foundation was on hand to present Village Theatre with a cheque for $29,500., which will pay for new audience chairs and an under-stage storage system. Also on hand were many long-time supporters of VT, including  MPP Ted McMeekin, Hamilton Councillors David Braden (who helped tremendously with the grant application) and Margaret McCarthy, and former Flamborough Councillor Jerry Aggus..
